Dez MacDermot knows that
just about everything can be explained.
Her career with the NYPD as a detective has proven that deductive
reasoning and
logic can be applied to just about everything. But when an old flame,
and
former Navy SEAL, Mace Llewellyn, reappears in her life, she belatedly
realizes
that it's not always true.
Watching the gorgeous
hunk that's replaced the gangly
teenager she remembers is disconcerting, but this whole shifting into a
400-pound
lion thing is definitely one for the books—though it might explain why
he
sniffs her neck and purrs.
Throw a Pride murder into
the mix, a Pack of good ol' boys
(and girls) looking for a hot time in the Big Apple and a gaggle of
squabbling
relatives, and Dez's head is spinning. Christmas dinner will never be
the same
again.
Ms. Laurenston has done
it again! This book's a non-stop
riot of action, humor and sizzling chemistry that is impossible to put
down.
Dez MacDermot is a tough,
no-nonsense sort of woman who's
inspired the loyalty and friendship of the cops she works with—to the
point
they're the over protective brothers she never had. Their camaraderie
and
quirkiness could teach the guys and gals on Law
& Order a thing or two about style.
And anyone who never
thought lions and wolves could be
friends between Prides and Packs, should think twice, because Mace and
Smitty
are a very unique pair of ex-military guys who've been through a lot
together.
Mace is about as subtle
as his namesakes, but far more
endearing. He's the oddity in his Pride, a lone wolf-of-a-lion who'd
rather
walk his own path with the one woman who'd stolen his heart 20 years
before.
Dez and Mace are
unforgettable and the chemistry between
them is still simmering when they run into each other. They're
guaranteed to
put a good kink in the reader's tail and keep it there. Ms.
Laurenston's one of
those writers to put on the watch list. Keep your eye on her, because
the
consistency of her works, unique style and humor makes them sure
keepers—especially
for this reviewer!
