In JB
Skully’s, POWER TO THE MAX, an unwilling psychic, a ghost and a
delicious cop
must solve a crime involving a faithless husband with a lot of suspects
each
with their own reasons to commit murder.
Max Starr
has a lot on her plate with her husband’s dead ghost, homicide
detective DeWitt
Long - her kind of love interest, and murder.
This murder of a cheating husband and mysterious
masked woman has so
much more that Max could ever imagine. The same number 452, along with
the
nefarious Bud Traynor has popped up once again. The murdered man, Lance
LaRusso,
has many people with lots of secrets to hide who could of killed him.
This time
the case is even harder as there is no ghost of the victim to help Max.
Not
that she misses the possession part of things. Her only supernatural
help comes
from the ghost of her dead husband, Cameron. The problem is this time,
he asks
her for more than she would ever suspect. As Max struggles to solve the
crime
she must come face to face with not only a murderer, but with her own
personal
demons.
POWER TO
THE MAX is a tightly plotted mystery with so many twists and turns it
left me
on the edge of my seat. There are many viable suspects to choose from,
each
with secrets to hide before the shocking climax. Max Starr is a
character that
seems to be strong and afraid of nothing, but the layers within her do
go much
deeper than that. Witt is charming, loyal and all out sexy. He and Max
compliment each other.
Not having
read any of the previous Max series I was taken away with the story. I
plan to
go and check out the rest of the series while I wait in anticipation of
the
next novel in the Series.
I highly
recommend JB Skully’s, POWER TO THE MAX to readers who like scorching
sex, deep
and interesting characters, and a mystery that keeps you guessing until
the
very end.
