Serena, unlike her gorgeous and outgoing younger sister, is just an ordinary, plain-looking woman who weighs more than she would prefer. In her opinion, the only thing special about herself is that she is an OtherKin witch.
Cole, on the other hand, is a tall, muscular blond god of a man – the kind of guy who normally wouldn’t look at her twice. When Serena is forced to guard over Cole, she finds she is in for more than she bargained for. Not only is Cole as handsome as a god, but he’s actually the physical vessel for Cernunnos, a pagan forest god (similar to Herne the Hunter). He’s lost his memory and radiates power. He’s also trying his best to seduce her, despite her best efforts to resist him.
To make things even more complicated in Serena’s life, a demon named Ashmodai has been freed and is wrecking havoc. Ashmodai has his sadistic sights set on Cole, and will do anything to destroy him.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It’s packed with a lot of elements – magic, romance, action, suspense, and humour. I liked the characters and their chemistry together, and I thought the love scenes were wonderfully romantic and steamy. I also thought the system of magic in the book was interesting. I look forward to reading more about it in the future. I don’t think I’ll have to wait long; based on some hints about a minor character in the story, it looks as if there will be a sequel. (And if there isn’t, I might have to do some demon conjuring of my own….)
WARNING: Story contains anal and oral sex, as well as mild bondage and violence.
