MINE TO TAKE by Angelina Evans

Needing perfect genetic mates for his heirs, the Allourian king set up a company called Illusions.  It’s where people all over the galaxy can go and have the fantasy of their life, without the reality that goes with it.  It’s also where women are genetically screened to find those matches for the King’s heirs.  However, the Allourian’s have let control of Illusions fall into the wrong hands and the genetic mates are being abducted before the Allourian heirs even find out about them.

Sansi is one such genetic match.  She’s just arrived at Illusions to fulfill a fantasy that would have her family in an uproar.  Once she’s attached to the ensconced in the system though, everything in Sansi’s world changes.  She is taken captive and knowing her future, Sansi ceases to exist, leaving Saeble in her wake.

Traiden Darkeen has been searching for his genetic match and has finally located her on a pleasure planet.  Saeble has worked her way to freedom and absolutely refuses to give it up.  Will Traiden be able to convince Saeble that he really does need her and not just for the survival of his people?

Wow, this short story packs a lot of information and HOT loving into it.  Never once did I feel overloaded or under-heated by the storyline.  The instant attraction and (near) immediate love between the two main characters was exhilarating and gratifying.  I found Saeble to be a competent heroine, as well as determined to make her own way after her sad start in this story.  Traiden proves to be a dominating, yet seductive and even sweet man.  He sets out to take Saeble and finds himself taken instead.  This is the second in Ms. Evans’ Darkeen Dynasty series, yet it does stand alone with the addition of an informative prologue.  I’ve found that both books are worthy of my “Keeper” pile.
