Dominic Rutledge, one of the last two unmarried Rutledge brothers, has become somewhat unsatisfied with life. He’s got a great job with his family’s security company, and he can probably have any woman he sets his eyes on. When he finds a hacker in the company’s computer system, he finds a challenge that revitalizes his lust for life. As the hacker avoids his security traps, Dominic realizes this isn’t just any ordinary hacker. When the hacker sends him an image of an alluring naked woman as a taunt, he becomes determined to track this person down, and to discover if the hacker is at tempting as her computer graphic.
Mary Dennison is just trying to save her wannabe hacker cousin from the mess he’s created for himself. She uses her computer talents to rescue him, but is intrigued by a private e-mail that she accidentally reads while avoiding the security company’s traps. The e-mail entices her to do a little more research about the author, namely Dominic. His photo draws her in, and there’s an interesting rumour that he’s a werewolf. Her attraction and curiosity nudges her into travelling across the state to find out if Dominic is all he’s rumoured to be.
This was a pleasant, although fairly short book. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and I liked the general concept of the story. However, I do wish there had been more to the book. I thought the way Mary and Dominic get together at the bar was a little too easy, and I wanted the characterization and plot to be more fully developed.
If you’re like me, and you haven’t read the other books in this series, you will find it easy to follow the past storylines. Only one thing didn’t make sense to me; I didn’t know what was the deal with the grandfather and Edward, but that didn’t detract from the overall story.
WARNING: Story contains mild bondage.
