Counter-terrorism agent David Adams is used to danger and intrigue. When his brother-in-law asks him to find Genoa, a missing spy, he finds more than he bargained for. David is empathic, but doesn’t need his powers to tell Genoa is hiding more secrets than she’s willing to share. To make things worse, he is irresistibly attracted to her – every time he touches her, he feels a deeper connection than he’s ever felt with any other woman.
Genoa is an independent woman who can take care of herself. When David comes barrelling in to the rescue, she’s a little resentful and suspicious of his motives. He’s dominating and surly, but she can’t keep her hands off him. Gorgons, a group of nasty aliens, are on her tail. David’s job is to get her safely back to Earth, but will they be able to keep their hearts intact in the process?
When they are together, Genoa and David’s chemistry explodes on the page. The love scenes are hot and the action is fast paced. I really enjoyed the smart-ass comments the characters made to each other. The only problem I could find with this story was the brief mention of Genoa’s infertility. It’s mentioned, but then never brought up again. I’m guessing either something was cut out or missed during the editing process, or there will be a sequel where this is explained. While I haven’t read the prequel to this story, I had no problem following along with the minor characters when they were introduced. I enjoyed reading this book enough that I think I want to read the prequel.
WARNING: Story contains explicit sex.
