In addition to a mysterious huge IRS tax bill appearing and upcoming wedding to soul mate Johnnie Mae, Pastor Landris battles angry members of the board of his new church. He suspects his shady brother has something to do with the tax bill, he’ll deal with that, but he doesn’t know what to do about the board, (besides pray), and the wedding, well he wants only the best for his love and plans the whole thing himself.
While on assignment Johnnie Mae hears an unusual story from an older white woman. She quickly dismisses the tale but something compels her to investigate the story. She has no idea what she’s drawing everyone into.
Lena Patterson is determined to make a difference in the lives of her daughter and grand-baby. Her mother deserted her and she in no-way will do even something remotely similar to her family. When an older woman shows up at Theresa’s house Lena’s defenses rise while Teresa is unsure about how to handle the visitor. Theresa hopes the visit is for good, but Lena’s sure it’s for evil.
No one is prepared for the adventure that awaits, all tied to a rare jeweled necklace.
Excellent story telling, a unique plot, (actually two plots) well developed characters, and a faith message that is both clear and compelling, make this book a page-turner. I enjoyed the story so much. The talented author so skillfully tied the many loose ends together and gives us a beautiful presentation.
Highly recommended. Reviewer’s Choice Award Winner.
