Being dead
sucks! Rianna thought that the afterlife would at least be less
restrictive. In
the six years that she's been a ghost she's found out that being dead
has more
rules than living did. Her one pleasure is mingling amongst the humans.
She's
convinced that the reason this is forbidden is because it's so
enjoyable, a way
to break the monotony of every day existence.
Ezra, the
head of the Spirit Council is Rianna's biggest heckler. His fondest
wish is to
send her to Oblivion. This is where spirits go when punished. From what
she's
heard, it's not a pleasant place. There is no coming back, once
banished.
Knowing the consequences doesn't stop Rianna from visiting earth.
Especially
when Caleb enters her little slice of the world, Romania.
Caleb has
come to Romania
to search for answers. He was born immortal and he wants to know why,
and if
possible, reverse it.
Ms.
Carrington puts a comical twist to the question of life after death.
What do
spirits do after they die? Well, according to Rianna, not a whole lot
of
anything. Rianna's hi-jinx while trying to skirt the rules make for a
humorous
tale. Caleb is frustrated with his immortality as well as the
non-corporal
Rianna. This unlikely pair will worm their way into your heart. You
feel for
the loss that Caleb has put up with in his two hundred years of life.
Rianna's
inability to conform to the peacefulness of afterlife has you cheering
her on. Walking Through Fire is a nifty
glimpse into life after death, Rachel Carrington style.
