This slim hard-covered volume of devotions, with a lovely presentation page at the front, is a perfect gift for the dedicated classroom teacher, Sunday School teacher, student teacher, or college professor; no matter how long they’ve been at it.
There are ten sections in the book. Each section has five devotions, at the end of each section is a journaling page entitled Weekend Words To Prepare Your Heart. Each devotion is broken into four sections. It begins with 1) Right Words which is scripture, 2) Spoken At The Right Time, which is part one of the contemporary message, 3) Bring Understanding and Peace, which is the remaining piece of the contemporary message, 4) One Heart At A Time, which is an applicable thought, and the devotional ends with a 5) Prayer. The book’s last page allows for thoughtful reflection and prayer by the reader.
The author, Vicki Caruana, herself a public educator, has put much thought into each piece. She covers everything from the never ending stream of paper work a teacher must do, rivalry between adults in schools, and what to do when burnout happens, her words teach and encourage.
