When
the odds are stacked against a woman, she does what she needs to
realize her
dream. In the process, she finds so much more.
There is
only one dream that Jordan Diaz has always wanted to
fulfill - being a firefighter for the Stockland Volunteer Fire
Department. The retired chief and her
father, Cleveland
Diaz’, belief that women have no place in fighting fires has always
stood in
her way at least until now. Since her father has retired and taken a
vacation, Jordan
decides
to take her chance and fulfill her dream. Talking Bryce Tracy into
giving her a
chance at a position in the fire department was the easy part. Now
Jordan must
not only prove to Bryce that he was right for giving her chance, she
must prove
to her father and the other firefighters she has what it takes to be a
part of
the team. Up against pressure from her father, the seemingly deep
seeded hostility
of Caleb Wilkes, a fellow firefighter who agrees with her father about
firewomen, and her attraction to Bryce, Jordon faces many choices that
will
either keep or shatter her dream.
Giving into
letting Jordan
try out for the fire
department, Bryce Tracy knows he faces alienating, Cleveland Diaz, the
man who
opened his home and heart and gave him a sense of belonging he didn't
have with
his own family. Stuck between father and
daughter, Bryce tries to please the two people who have come to mean so
much to
him. To placate Jordan
and
keep Cleveland happy, he sets Jordan
to run
the pumper truck. He didn't count on Jordan not only catching
onto his
plan; she is unwilling to accept anything but being a full member of
the crew.
When Jordan
is hurt during a fire, Bryce acknowledges that he has come to care more
for her
than he would admit. Will Jordan's
dream be short lived? Will Bryce choose obligation or love?
Packed with
grabbing what you want, acceptance, and love, Fighting
for a Dream by Tonya
Ramagos’s is a captivating tale for readers to enjoy. The characters
kept me
captivated and stayed in my thoughts even after I finished the novel.
The
interaction between Bryce and Jordan flowed naturally and made the
story come
alive with emotion. I was rooting for Jordan to overcome the
struggle she
faced in gaining acceptance from her father and fellow fire fighters.
Fighting
for a Dream is a read
that I
recommend for readers who love a story of triumph, acceptance and love.
