Anaisse is
trying to remain calm though her childhood friend, Lord Vant, has
abducted
her. She knows that she must try to
escape even though it could mean a fate worse than death, for the men
who hold
her captive are of a religious sect that deals with Female sex slaves. Just as she is making good in her escape,
well maybe not making good but she damn sure is trying, Anaisse is
saved by a
man who is the enemy of her people.
Lord Gregor
has wanted Anaisse for his own since he first saw her.
Gaining her hand in marriage had been a way
to combine their two nations. However,
Gregor wants more from Anaisse than a political marriage.
He rides to her rescue and hopes to win her
heart in the following days. Gregor
wishes for Anaisse to want to be his
wife not make it a duty.
As the
final story in Anya Bast’s Seasons
series, Autumn Pleasures: The Union was a sad but then again
happy
ending for me. Sad because I’ve come to
love the world in which this series has been placed.
I would love to see the complete union of the
two nations. However, the reader is
given this at the end of the story.
Autumn
Pleasures
takes up
almost exactly where the previous book left off, with Anaisse being
abducted. Like the rest of Ms. Bast’s
heroines, Anaisse isn’t waiting around for her rescue, oh no. She’s making a great start to rescuing
herself. For a woman raised in a nation
where the female is second-class, Anaisse is strong and independent. She is also very wary of men and Lord Gregor
to be exact. Also like the previous
heroes,
Gregor is strong, determined, protective, and HOT!
With a gentle hand, he is finally able to
convince Anaisse to give them a chance.
FINALLY!! OMG, I was
ready to
hyperventilate by then from all the panting I was doing. With
emotions and sex galore, I gave a soft,
happy sigh at the ending of a book and series that I’ve enjoyed
immensely. Pick it up; I’m certain that
you’ll enjoy
it. I’m off to start all over again!
