A generous bounty on the
head of suspected murderer Lurin
Vez is reason enough for Captain Mara Seni to go after the darkly
handsome
fugitive. But when she captures him, there's something fascinating
about his intelligence and his electric blue eyes that she can't put
out of her
mind.
Mara then finds herself
drawn into a web of intrigue and
deception. She soon learns that the fabled sensuality of the Thresha
are not
merely a fanciful tale and that her captive means to use every skill he
possesses to regain his freedom.
This is an intense, fast
read that keeps the action as hot
as the passion. Ms. Harte ensures that there are plenty of surprises to
keep
the reader guessing and then thoroughly satisfies by delivering a
tight, well-written
tale. Mara is a decent sort, trying to make an honest living as a
bounty hunter. She's very by-the-book, yet has more strength than she's
aware
she possesses when she listens to her conscience and her heart.
And while this reviewer
finds the concept of the Thresha a
little unusual, Lurin is a believable and enjoyable character that
deserves to
find a woman who will appreciate him for the man he is, rather than
covet him
for the near-mythical lover his kind are purported to be.
I enjoyed Lurin's
Surrender and would recommend it to anyone who's looking to add a
good,
spicy story to their library.
