Lt. Gabe “Jaguar”
Renault is a Navy SEAL, member of Team Twelve. It had been discovered
that
someone was selling their secrets to the enemy and it’s the job of
Gabe’s team
to uncover the identity of the traitor.
But during a mission in North Korea,
Gabe is left for dead in a North
Korean prison and tortured for a year. With the heartache of possibly
never
seeing his wife Helen and daughter, Mallory again, Gabe endured the
torture and
was finally free when the opportunity arose. But by this time Gabe has
only a
partial memory of the last three years, as a SEAL, a husband and as a
father.
Gabe
returns to his wife, Helen, who has since moved on with her life when
he was
declared dead. Helen doesn’t want Gabe back in her life, she never
wants to be
last in a man’s mind as he takes care of his career again, as Gabe
always
placed being a SEAL above all else. With
the danger that continues to follow Gabe while he tries to remember the
past
and who left him for dead, Gabe tries to prove to his wife and daughter
that
memories of them kept him alive in the prison and he wants a second
chance. Can
Gabe close the door to the past once and for all and open the door to a
happy
future with those he loves?
There is no
better hero for this reader than a man in uniform, especially a Navy
SEAL. I
fell hard and fast for Marliss Melton’s hero, Gabe Renault in Forget Me Not, and it’s an
experience I won’t soon forget! With heartfelt emotions, strong and
passionate
characters and the intrigue and danger, Forget
Me Not is one story I recommend to all readers. Ms. Melton
depicts with
a powerful pen, the agony and realism of a POW camp and the torture one
endures. While the reader’s heart goes out to Gabe, it’s a quick switch
to
everyday life when Gabe is out of the prison, and the reader is riveted
to
Gabe’s life, his state of mind when he’s free and his turmoil to make
sense of
the past. Ms. Melton handles it all like a pro and a reader is glued to
their
seat turning the pages.
Forget Me Not, the first of a trilogy
of SEALs,
only whets the appetite and eagerness for more of the same exemplary
writing. A recipient of The Road to
Romance Reviewer’s Choice Award, Forget
Me Not by Marliss Melton is exactly what the title indicates…it
is
unforgettable. I wait anxiously for the next book in this trilogy,
hopefully to
be released soon.
