When
author, Michelle Lawson, aka Flame, runs into her best friend, Darin
Greene
from high school, she is overwhelmed with memories and the feelings he
brings
out in her. As she and Darin hang out together, times are not as they
used to
be. Michelle finds herself falling in love with Darin and knows that he
will
run if she even mentions the word, commitment. Michelle’s happiness is
clouded
with misgivings and questions about Darin, and the stalker who won’t
let her
be…
Darin
Greene can’t believe the woman Michelle has become. She’s gorgeous,
sure of herself
and almost more than he can handle. He can’t stop thinking about her
after they
run into each other after ten years and he soon finds himself in a
relationship
with her. Not one for long-term relationships, Darin tries to keep
Michelle at arms
length from his heart. But when
Michelle’s life is in danger and he never knew it, his pride is
shattered, as
he believes he failed to protect her.
Will Darin
realize what he really has with Michelle when he comes close to losing
her for
good? Will the Flame be extinguished
if Darin can’t make a commitment?
Erin Moore
pens a sensual suspense tale with her latest release, Flame.
The characters, Michelle and Darin are interesting and
memorable characters. The danger stalking Michelle adds to the interest
level
for the reader and blends very well with the romance between the
characters.
Readers can’t help but connect with Michelle and Darin. He is
commitment shy,
understandably so, as we witness his parent’s marriage. It was
refreshing to
see Michelle come alive again after her husband’s death two years
earlier.
Watching her try again at love is poignant and beautiful to watch.
However, my
only problem with Flame was
the sporadic POV switches. For example, within the first chapter, there
are
continual switches in approximately every few paragraphs.
This happened sporadically throughout this
story and did at numerous times halt the flow with which I was reading.
But
overall, Erin Moore pens a great romantic suspense tale with full
intrigue and
memorable characters.
