New Orleans, Louisiana, The Big Easy, has a reputation of being naughty, steamy and sexy. Jaci Burton revisits this exciting city to bring us her captivating third installment in the A STORM FOR ALL SEASONS series.
Sophie Breaux is known for her fortune telling skills and in recent months, she has been having visions about Logan Storm, CEO of The Rising Storm Hotel in New Orleans. Her visions show danger, but she also sees herself and Logan together in the real sense. When she meets Logan for the first time, he’s having sex in a French Quarter back alley with another woman. Sophie is so turned on, that she pleasures herself while in the alley with the couple. She knows she and Logan are destined to be together, but she also knows his reputation for being a cold, hard man. She must convince him of the danger awaiting him and his family or possibly lose what she knows in her heart is her destiny.
Logan is shocked and yet feels somehow connected to the woman watching him have sex with a lady friend in the alley. He’s even more surprised when the voyeur pleasures herself right there. When he realizes Sophie, the alley voyeur, is into fortune telling and other paranormal activities, he is disgusted and calls her a fake. Logan also has magical powers, but he is ashamed and refuses to acknowledge them. He can’t deny the powerful attraction that pulls him to Sophie, even though he refuses to accept it. Logan rejects Sophie’s claims about the imminent danger to him and his family, even when his family accepts Sophie and her premonitions.
The whole Storm clan is once again included to provide excitement. We revisit the couples from the first two books and Logan’s mom is up to her old tricks of matchmaking. Logan is one tough cookie and you can truly sympathize with him when you realize he’s that way because of his fear of rejection and being different. Sophie is strong and determined and never lets Logan intimidate her.
WINTER ICE is sexually graphic so beware if you are not up to the challenge. All in all, the story flows, the characters are fun and Ms. Burton even adds a little suspense for an added thrill. WINTER ICE has something for everyone and you definitely won’t get a chill reading this book.
