Violet Campbell returned to
White Hills, Vermont
when
her marriage ended. Feeling at loose ends, with a compelling urge to
nurture,
Violet planted her own brand of lavender in her fields.
Only, she never expected it to grow to the
capacity it did. Violet only wanted to live among her lavender fields
and be at
peace with her life. But when Cameron
Lachlan comes to test Violet’s lavender in hopes of using it for
perfume made
by the company he works for, her life becomes as wild as the lavender
growing
around her. But Cameron doesn’t buy the “airhead” persona that she
shows the
world and their relationship soon becomes more than she wanted. After
the mess
of her marriage that scarred her for life, Violet only wants to have a
fling
with Cameron as their attraction becomes too explosive. But Cameron
Lachlan has
other ideas…
Cameron met
with Violet with only the hope of making a deal for the use of her
lavender. What he finds with her is more
than he ever expected. Her airiness and quirky persona do nothing to
hide the
desirable and intelligent woman beneath the surface in his opinion, and
he
can’t resist her. Can Cameron convince Violet to love a second time?
Wild in the Moonlight, book two of The
Scent of Lavender series is another great love story from
author Jennifer Greene. Violet and
Cameron are wonderful characters whose attraction is powerful and
instantaneous. Violet is much different
from her sister
Camille (book 1), but they both have the pain and heartache of the past
to
overcome. Ms. Greene pens a more delicate feel to Violet that enchants
a reader,
much as it does Cameron. I couldn’t help
but laugh and cry while reading this tale. The humour that the author
implemented
into this story makes for a lighter feel, yet balances it remarkably
well with
the romance and passion of the characters.
Violet and Cameron balance and complement each
other. While Violet hides
her intelligence to keep men at arms length, Cameron sees through it
all.
What I have
found I like best about Jennifer Greene’s writing is that she is an
amazing
storyteller who has created a family that is strong with love and
realistic in
their daily lives. While these sisters are no strangers to heartbreak,
there is
so much love and passion inside of them; they leave readers feeling
very good about
love. Wild in the Moonlight
is a compelling tale that is rich with
feeling and great depictions of the scenery and land. While reading
this story,
I even lit some lavender candles after a few pages, which put me in an
even
better frame of mind for the love and page-turning excitement I had a
feeling I
would find within the pages. Read Wild in the Moonlight by Jennifer
Greene, it’s a story that doesn’t disappoint and leaves one believing
in love
and second chances.
Watch for
book 3 of this trilogy, Wild in the
Moment coming in December 2004.
