Professor Roseleen White has a passion for history and is doing research for a book. What better place to do her research than at her cottage in England. In the meantime, for years, Roseleen has been trying to acquire an antique weapon – as they are also her passion. Through her brother, David, Roseleen receives a sword called the Blooddrinker’s Curse. Roseleen soon finds out that it is much more than a sword, because each time she holds it, a man appears before her – and he identifies himself as Thorn Blooddrinker, owner of the sword. As the curse laid upon him declares, he is enslaved to the owner of the sword.
Roseleen doesn’t know if she’s losing her mind, or having vivid dreams. But, she must admit that the sword does have some type of power over her, even bringing the sword to England, after paying for all the expense for it originally to be shipped to her home in the States.
Thorn is less than pleased with the new owner’s constant summonings – she always seems to summon him when he’s busy. But, now that she has the swing of things, Roseleen realizes that Thorn just might help her to do the research she’s so excited about.
There are conditions, however. Thorn cannot leave without Roseleen commanding him to do so. He also can stay should he so desire. And right now, he desires Roseleen, and the pleasures she can offer him. Roseleen may indeed be attracted to the Viking god, but she’s hardly about to engage in anything physical with him. What she wants, is help with her research.
Thorn is willing to help Roseleen, especially because he can see the passion in her eyes. Every woman before Roseleen to get the sword enjoyed his body, and he’s certain she will want to as well. So, they strike a deal, only Roseleen doesn’t have any idea on how her fantasies will soon change her life forever.
UNTIL FOREVER is a pleasurable read. One thing sure to bring a smile, is Thorn’s fascination with modern conveniences. Also, his pride about his life – even with the curse – is a strong attraction. Roseleen herself changes during the course of this book. Maybe research and teaching was the only thing that was of major importance to her, especially having been burned in a previous relationship. Her reactions to Thorn range from complete innocence to utter awe. As always, Ms. Lindsey writes her stories with flair, and gives her characters wonderful depth. I loved this story which mixed past and present, thereby leaving readers to find out if indeed this love story will have a happy ending, and in whose time period.
