Cassie Macalvey, taken advantage of by men more times than she could count, has sworn off men, especially jocks. She was happy being single, working her new job as an Administrative Assistant, and saving money to replace her dilapidated car. When her mother coerces her to drive her very pregnant sister to a maternity store for bras, she’s surprised to find a very drool worthy man working behind the counter. Throwing caution to the wind, she flirts and leaves him hints on how to reach her. One week later and still no call from him, Cassie is ready to go back to her male boycott.
Scott Karstetter loves helping out his mother in her maternity shop. Secretly he craves a family of his own, and being surrounded by pregnant women helps stave off his urgency for a family until he finds the right woman. When Cassie comes in the store with her sister, he puts on the charm. But even with the hints she leaves, he finds it nearly impossible to find her again.
The local junior high is in desperate need of a cheerleading coach and Roe, Cassie’s best friend, convinces her to take the job. Reluctant to leave the safety of her boring life, Cassie eventually agrees only to discover the coach for the sports teams is the bra salesman, Scott. Her body is overjoyed at seeing Scott again, but her mind refuses to budge on her anti-jock stance. Scott can’t believe his luck at seeing Cassie again, but is forewarned by Roe of Cassie dislike of jocks. Scott knows Cassie is the one for him, now all he has to do is convince her.
If you’re looking for a fun and heartwarming story, REAL MEN SELL BRAS is your book. Cassie and Scott are great characters that the reader can relate too, but at the same time, unique. Cassie could be you, or your sister, her past hurts ruling her life, but finding the right man is all it takes to erase her past. Scott is the sensitive hunk we all love to love. Cathy McDavid is defiantly an author I’m keeping my eye on.
