Pat Williams has been involved in professional sports for a long time. Most recently he served as the Senior Vice President of Orlando Magic NBA team. Most of his adult life has been spent leading and leading successfully. He passes on a lot of his experience in this book, and the neat thing is, he bases much of his learning on the life of Jesus. How did Jesus lead? In Pat’s estimation Jesus demonstrated the power of paradox and the paradox of power. (To find out what that means, you need to get the book!)
Jesus achieved his goals (spreading the good news of salvation) through others. Without faithful people to carry on his message it would not be spread. But, how did he do it?
Full of excellent analysis, real life examples and interesting statistics, this book is not only a valuable teaching tool, but it also makes for a fascinating read. The writing is understandable, warm and gritty. No aspect of leadership goes untouched as each rock of “boss” ness is overturned and ‘secrets’ of leadership are exposed.
Leading isn’t easy, effective leadership is even more demanding, and successful leadership is almost impossible to achieve. But when you encounter it, a life changing transformation can take place. The principals in this book applies to any business.
If you’re looking for effective ways to inspire your employees, military battalion, shift managers, or even family members, this book has all the tools you need. And, the results just may surprise you. Highly recommended.
