MOUNTAIN'S CAPTIVE by Michelle M. Pillows

As a stipulation of her father’s will, Chloe Masters is required to marry and produce a child by her 30th birthday or else she forfeits her inheritance. Chloe is a writer and loves her privacy. She has no desire to marry, but will do so to prevent the loss of her inheritance, which would mean the loss of jobs for many people. Chloe finds the perfect man to marry and help fulfill the stipulations of her father’s will. The groom is waiting for her in a Vegas hotel room #358. On her way to Vegas, Chloe drinks way too much and accidentally calls room 258 instead of 358. Since she’s never seen the lucky groom, Chloe has no idea that the wrong groom but the right man just entered her life.

Everest Beaumont, in room 258, is being pursued by Chilton Enterprises for a business deal. So when a woman arrives on his door step, he assumes she’s a high priced prostitute sent by Chilton. Everest finds Chloe attractive and wastes no time taking full advantage of his gift. After a night full of hot sex, Everest leaves Vegas and a note for Chloe. She wakes up and reads the note thanking her for a good time, she also finds the marriage license, but when she calls her attorney, she finds she’s married the wrong man. Now she has to find the man she’s just had the best sex of her life with so she can get a divorce and marry the right man.

Right or wrong, the attraction between Everest and Chloe simmers close to the edge. When Chloe finds Everest and tells him about their marriage, he doesn’t believe her. He thinks Chilton sent her again to try and persuade him to sign their contract. Chloe pulls out the marriage license and convinces Everest that she’s telling the truth and that she’s not a prostitute. She explains to Everest that she needs the divorce so she can marry someone else. Now that he thinks she’s engaged, he refuses to give into his desire for her. Can they resist temptation when they find themselves snowed in Everest’s mountain cabin for what may be weeks?

After reading MOUNTAIN’S CAPTIVE, I’ve become a new fan of Michelle M. Pillows. Ms. Pillows developed well rounded characters that are real and likeable. The relationship between Chloe and Everest starts out as a tremendous desire and ends up developing into true love. MOUNTAIN’S CAPTIVE captured my heart and I highly recommend it.
