In Dakota Cassidy’s, The Ex-files Book 1: Mayhem and Maddie, a divorced woman must cope with being single and taking that plunge into the dating scene that is no longer just the movies.
Madison “Maddie” Blake is divorced after eleven years of marriage. Maddie is finding it difficult to go on after divorce. Dragged to a party, Maddie goes in search of a place to smoke and happens upon a whole room full of people dressed like animals. Approached by a bunny that is later reveled as a handsome man - Cole Ashton - Maddie has no clue if she is ready to date. Not to mention he was dressed like a bunny. What is a woman to do when approached by a man to scrumptious for words but has a bunny fetish?
Maddie, coerced to come out of her shell, joins a therapy group of divorced woman and finds rare friendships in the process. Katy the leader of group, Victoria the control freak and Maxine the lovely woman who was abused by her husband. As they bond and share karaoke Maddie comes to respect these ladies as friends and looks for advice on what to do about Cole the bunny costume wearing guy. Will Maddie follow her heart or her head?
The Ex-files: Mayhem and Maddie was a hilarious yet highly sensual novel of finding yourself. Ms. Cassidy’s portrayal of the furcon - and “yiffing” was hilarious and very informative. I enjoyed immensely each page of The Ex-files: Mayhem and Maddie. The meeting between Cole and Maddie was priceless for its hilarity. The growth of Maddie from an unsure divorcee to a confident single woman was inspiring.
I recommend Mayhem and Maddie as not to be missed. It will make you laugh hard and cheer at the same time.
