Jordan
Weston returns to her childhood home of Magnolia, South Carolina to sell Belle Coeur,
her deceased
Grandmother’s home. Returning to
Magnolia is nerve-wracking and painful for Jordan
as it holds a lot of bad
memories for her. From her mother’s
endless men to her abandoning Jordan, to the man who she had a huge
crush on in
high school who laughed at her after they shared their one and only
kiss, these
are things in her past best forgotten. Jordan is just anxious to sell Belle
Coeur and
get back to New York,
her home and where her career is. With
big plans to open her own theatre, Jordan is eager to sell the
house
and use the money to make her dreams come true. But the house is in
need of a
few repairs and she has to hire TNT Construction to handle the job.
Unfortunately for Jordan,
the owner is none other than her high school crush, Sam Tanner, and he
still
sends her pulse accelerating and everywhere she turns he is there. Jordan
has never thought of returning to Magnolia for good, but as she and Sam
grow
closer, she begins to forget her big plans and that there is even a
New York to go
back to. Will Jordan
follow her heart and stay
with Sam, or will she allow the past to shadow her present and her
future?
Sam Tanner
has wanted Jordan Weston for as long as he can remember. In high school
she was
the untouchable girl, the one way out of his league. But when she
returns to
Magnolia, he’s just the man she needs.
As owner of TNT Construction, Sam takes it upon
himself to oversee the
repairs to Belle Coeur and in doing so; he gets to spend a lot of time
with Jordan. Sam knows the effect his being near has on
her and she fights it as best she can.
But when she finally gives into her own desires, and
his are finally
coming true with her in his arms, Sam finds himself wishing he never
had to
finish the repairs so Jordan
can stay with him forever. Can Sam nail Jordan’s
past
shut once and for all? Will he lose the one woman he’s wanted for years?
Jaci Burton
returns to the heart of real romance with her newest release and first
contemporary romance in months…Magnolia
Summer. Jordan and Sam were
never really friends in high school, but there was always an
attraction, which
now leads to a tension that is so thick and powerful, it’s sweltering!
From the
first chapter when Jordan
has to face her past, through the sexual tension and heat, to the last
pages of
this book, a reader is captivated and seduced by the emotions that take
our
breath away. Every emotion – from
embarrassment to desire, to happiness and insecurities can be felt in
layers
from each of these characters. Jordan
is a
character who I am really glad I had the chance to know. Facing one’s
past is
never easy, especially those unhappy days in high school if one has
bitter
memories of that time, yet she stands tall and finds her unbelievable
inner
strength and gets the job done. However,
she is a tough woman to crack and it’s a battle of wills – Jordan’s
will,
as she fights Sam and herself. Of course
Sam doesn’t make it easy. The man is sin, sin, sin (six foot two, tight
jeans,
lethal smile – you get the image of sin!)…he lets Jordan
know that the past won’t be
repeated if he has anything to do with it. His descriptions of Jordan,
his
desire for her, her taste…the power of words has never been so
intoxicating!! It’s
a roller coaster of emotion in this book and readers can’t help but
surrender
to the moments between Jordan and Sam and read this book straight on
through in
one sitting.
Heartfelt
romance and
sexual tension are things that Ms. Burton excels at when writing about
them. Magnolia Summer
is a passionate romance that readers can
enjoy for the characters and the power of love and desire. Jordan
has some
hard decisions ahead of her in this book, ones that alter her life
forever.
It’s a journey of self-discovery, for both of these characters. Hot summer
nights have never been as hot as in the pages of Magnolia
Summer. Drown in the outstanding passion, heart and
emotion as only Jaci Burton writes it. As always she leaves her reader
begging
for more of the same. Magnolia Summer…it
sends temperatures soaring!
