After fire destroys a famous home in Newport, Rhode Island, Colin McGrath and Grace Harrington are selected to compete for the redesign work. In college Grace, or “Gracie” as Colin calls her, woke up in Colin’s bed after a night of heavy drinking. For years Colin has wanted to tell her nothing happed that night, but she’s never given him the chance to explain. Now Colin has three weeks with Gracie at his disposal to reveal his secret and maybe have another chance with her.
Gracie has never forgiven herself for getting drunk and being stupid all those years ago. She thinks she gave Colin her virginity and has refused to get involved with another man until she finds someone she loves. Sexy as sin with long hair and wearing an earring, Colin plays the part of the bad boy very well. He blames himself for his mother walking out on him and his brothers when they were small, so he is somewhat relationship challenged. He doesn’t think he’s capable of a long term relationship.
Whether its fate or good old meddling from unlikely sources, these two can’t help but get the happy ending they deserve. The secondary characters in this book absolutely rock! The hunky McGrath men are all back and we get to see what’s happening with Mac and Nic from LIKE A HURRICANE. Can Gracie and Colin keep the fires burning or will the flames be extinguished by doubt?
THE FIRE STILL BURNS is a warm and inviting story about two people who want each other so bad, but can’t seem to get it right. Roxanne St. Claire writes stories from the heart and with passion, tenderness and excitement. You’ll love the McGrath’s; they are alpha males through and through. For a sure fire good book, catch THE FIRE STILL BURNS.
