THE CAPTIVATING CHAUFFEUR by J M Jeffries

Defying a god can be disastrous to your health.

In The Captivating Chauffeur by J M Jeffries, Venus the goddess of love must redeem herself by pairing straight laced Andrew “Drew” Sullivan with wacky Francesca "Frankie" Ling or she will be doomed to being a puffy eyed, sneezing Goddess. It should be easy except for an interfering trying – to- act -like –they- know -what -they – are doing Aunty Vesta.

Venus, the used to be Goddess of Love and now puffy eyed sneezing Goddess of the Fruit Trees and Gardens, has learned the hard way that you don’t mess around when Jupiter’s institutes a "hands off humans" policy. Eight month’s of being demoted has Venus determined to regain her position from her aunt Vesta, the very logical pious previous Goddess of Virtue and Hearth. It’s time to get her job back and Venus knows she has one shot to prove to her father, Jupiter, that there can be no Goddess of Love other than herself. Finding out that Vesta plans to match Andrew Sullivan with The Ice Queen, Olivia Montgomery, Venus knows it’s time to do what she does best and meddle.

Drew has taken on the responsibility of raising his siblings and now that he is finally free of the last of his responsibilities it’s time to live his own life. Retiring from business, Drew decides to take a cross county trip. Since he doesn’t have drivers license and feels he should enjoy life, it makes perfect sense for him to hire a limo to take him where he wants to go. Drew doesn’t count on his driver Francesca "Frankie" Ling being directionally challenged. Not to mention cute.

Frankie born from a Chinese father and Italian mother is a free spirit with a thirst for some adventure. A cross country trip sound just like what she needs to get her creative juices flowing. Having a little trouble with directions isn’t a problem. She eventually gets where she is going. Well sometimes. Drew’s so called trip is boring and in need of fun but being a dutiful chauffer she plan to follow his plans except her directional sense doesn’t let her.

Frankie misdirection leads them on a wacky adventure. Between midnight skinny dipping excursions, wild bears, ant farms, tawdry hotels, aphrodisiacs and tickets for lewd behavior, go for the ride of their life Frankie and Drew on a rocky adventurous road to romance and eventually love.

The Captivating Chauffeur is flamboyantly hilarious and romantic comedy at its very best. Drew and Frankie are engaging and wonderful characters are engaging and wonderful. The Captivating Chauffeur is fast paced with the wild unpredictable antics of Venus, Cupid and Vesta. I highly recommend Ms. Jeffries whimsical and delightful tale. It will make you laugh until your sides ache and believe that love definitely conquering all.
