Roni knew Taber for years. He always protected and helped her ever since she was a girl. When she reached 16 she started lusting after him, but it had grown worse once she turned 21. Roni's father was a criminal who put Roni in danger more than once and Taber was always there for her. After Taber bails her out of jail due to the latest incident involving Roni's father's creditors, it seemed like Roni would have her wish come true. However, a letter she receives, supposedly written by Taber, shattered her dreams.
Fifteen months after the last time Taber and Roni saw each other, her good for nothing father comes back to town. Roni finds out from T.V. reports that Taber was a breed, realizing that he marked her the last time that she saw him. Her father knows and now her life is in danger yet once more.
Roni's father betrayal puts her in a very vulnerable position, and her face ends up all over the news. After Taber watches on T.V. as she is being mobbed by the media, he goes after her, determined never to let her go again. He understood her reasons for leaving him that note shortly after the last time he saw her, but she belongs to him and now she needs his protection more than ever.
The Man Within is the much anticipated sequel to Lora Leigh's Tempting the Beast, and the second book of her Feline Breeds series. The Man Within brings us the story of Taber, whom you may recall from the previous story, and Roni, a local girl whom Taber has known and helped since she was but a child. This story is quite intense and brings us further into the Feline Breeds world. Both main characters have been deceived and it does take some time for them to learn to trust each other. Intensely erotic and full of action, The Man Within is a page-turner that keeps the reader literally glued to its pages. Despite the fact that this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone, although it would be best to read the previous title, as there are recurring characters and it does continue the storyline started on the first book. This title will appeal to Lora Leigh's fans as well as those who like an action packed, erotic, and intense ride.
