KISS ME ONCE, KISS ME TWICE by Kimberly Raye

KISS ME ONCE , KISS ME TWICE is set in contemporary Dallas, and is about a young girl, Skye, who is subconsciously looking for the ideal man to fill in the gap in her celibate life.

Skye Farrel, a sex educator, delivers Girl Talk seminars to women who need professional advice. But her own life is far from exciting! She is still searching for Mr Right who will add meaning to her life, when she accidentally bumps into Clint, the Cowboy, and her life starts getting transformed.

Clint MacAllister, one of NASCAR’s hottest drivers and the most eligible bachelor in Comfort, Texas, is not what he looks like. He is the marrying kind, but he comes across Skye, a liberated woman whose views are opposing to his, and starts flirting her.

Skye’s Girl Talk business has made her popular in the town. Her feministic beliefs inspire women who consider her to be a very successful woman in all aspects of her life. But is she really? She teaches women how to enhance their sex life, while hers is meddled. What has gone wrong? She remains loyal to her own views on marriage, supported by her parents’ views on that issue, until she comes across Clint, the Cowboy. Their odd relationship leads nowhere at first, or so it seems, but later on this sexy man will influence her way of thinking. What is going to happen to her? Will she submit to a man against her beliefs? Will Clint propose to her? Or will their relationship lead to a dead end?

KISS ME ONCE, KISS ME TWICE is an exciting love story that includes original aspects of a woman’s life: an original job that would probably embarrass others, a unique behavior of the heroine as a sex educator, and a positive transformation of her. The hero of the story, Clint, is a steady character that is loyal, trustworthy and responsible despite his public image. He is the ‘reserved’ type of man in the story, as opposed to Skye who is ‘easy-going’ and extremely liberated. Thus, two opposite types of persons are met and allow themselves to affect one another in such a way that the result is only positive.

The language is well-structured, no dialects, and the plot is well-sustained. Funny at times, it is light-hearted, therefore it is enjoyable, while at the same time it addresses serious issues such as those of celibate women, feminism and marriage. Though the topic and the heroine’s job might seem far fetched, it is also realistic to a great extend.  After all, we do see on TV commercials about sex encyclopedias and other sex related literature, as well as talks about sex delivered by specialists.

I believe that this book will interest a female audience of 18-35 age range. The award-wining author, Kimberly Raye, lives in Texas with her very own cowboy, Curt, and her two young children.
