In this second
installment to the Silk Secrets series, M. A. duBarry continues
directly from where she left off in the first book. In this volume,
auction house owner, Simone Driscoll, once again dons the silk
garters from the first book and is sucked into the past to join her
dream lover. Once there, Simone is the object of a challenge
between her lover and his brother over who will free her past self
from slavery and become her husband.
While the sex
scenes in this book were intense, they were also boring. Nothing
about this story could make up for the fact that it is literally the
middle of a longer tale with no real development of the characters.
In order to fully comprehend Enslaved, I had to go
back and read the first book, The Silk Garters.
Additionally, there were continuity problems between the first book
and the second; the most disturbing of which was the change in a
main characters name. I only hope that the series, when completed,
reads better in a single sitting then it does as parts.
