Lord Justin Barclay, the marquis of Rawlings, of the
Foreign Office, His Majestys service, must pretend to court Evelyn Amherst. He needs
to get close to Evelyn to try and discern details of her late fathers service.
Luring her, he must not reveal to Evelyn that he is a spy himself. As Evelyns father
was a spy, there is a chance that she is also a spy. It is up to Justin to ascertain that
information by his investigation.
The attraction between them when they first meet is palpable. Evelyn hopes that if she
considers Justin a cousin no matter how distant her reaction to him will be
dimmed. Evelyn has a mission to complete one last thing for her father.
With her mission in mind, she is rather confused by her feelings for Justin. She is not in
search for a husband, even at two and twenty years. In addition to her mission, will she
successfully be able to claim her inheritance?
Justin has a difficult and overbearing mother. For one thing, she despises Evelyn. Should
Evelyn be made to pay the price for having a diplomat, a spy, for a father? For having to
spent the last 12 years of her life traipsing around the world? Justin feels torn, as the
English government feels Evelyn knows something and that perhaps her father was a traitor?
Is Evelyn the enemy? It is interesting to see what happens between Justin and his mother
later in this story.
At some point, Evelyn thinks it might be best to take advantage of any comforts Justin
offers. This causes Justin to feel torn between duty and desire. He is becoming
distracted, and that is never a good thing.
Sari Robins brings together two people from very different worlds, while a case of
espionage must be solved. ALL MEN ARE ROGUES is filled to the brim with tender affections,
intrigue and responsibility. It is quite the pleasure to watch these two souls begin to
gel together. The story goes far beyond establishing Justin and Evelys relationship,
as the traitor has to be identified, thereby many people are placed in danger. For a
fast-paced read, one that is certain to hit a sensitive chord, be sure to pick up ALL MEN
ARE ROGUES.Reviewed by Robin Taylor for The Road to
