101 POEMS THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE: AN ANTHOLOGY OF EMOTIONAL FIRST AID by Daisy Goodwin

101 POEMS THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE is subtitled An Anthology of Emotional First Aid. At first, glancing at the title, I thought the book would be a lot of poetry about taking vitamins and seeing a doctor and quitting smoking.

Instead, there are poems titled Deep Sorriness Atonement Song, which is actually kind of funny, if you are very sorry about something and want to apologize. The author doesn’t promise that it will work with bank presidents though.

There’s poetry about falling in love, first dates, parenthood, school, Christmas, the morning after, and other unlikely subjects.

The poetry is written by various authors including Robert Frost and other famous poets, plus a slew of them are written by names I didn’t recognize. All the poems were interesting.

101 POEMS THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE is a fun book, sure to appeal to even the occasional poet. If you really love poetry, this book is a must. The book easily fits inside purses and totes and even coat pockets, so you can carry it along to combat all the demons that crowd into the average day. The right poem can alter your moods and will help the reader handle traffic jams and plane delays so much better. Pick it up today!
