THE YADA YADA PRAYER GROUP is a divinely inspired group of women, brought
together at a conference and stuck to each other with the glue of the Holy Spirit.
Jodi Baxter is a good Christian woman. In addition to teaching third grade, Jodi attends
Uptown Community Church with husband Denny and teen children Josh and Amanda. Jodi thinks
she has a good grasp on living the Christian life, Jesus, and correct behavior towards
others, until she encounters 11 special women in a prayer group during a womans
conference. Jodi begins a ride of exploration, adventure, and self-discovery all leading
to a more intimate relationship with God. It is not an easy journey, shes bumped out
of her seat often but with new friends ready to teach, scold, encourage, and love her,
Jodi continues to grow in His grace and mercy.
Jodi has a little bit of a pride problem and she is compelled to be an additional
conscience for her husband who it seems, has suddenly discovered beer- and her
children - who save money to fund a mission trip. Jodi begins on-line prayer group with
the members of Yada Yada. When it is apparent there is some element missing in this online
group, they decide to meet in person.
Sitting in on their meetings is fun. Its like being a fly on the wall. The best
thing about Jodi is she has a bit of each of us in her. Before you think this book is just
about praying and such, let me tell you more.
At the conference when the group gets beyond basic introductions and assessments of each
other, they share deep hurts, desires, fears, and you cant help but be touched. As
it is in real life, once you learn where a person hurt, you realize why they act the way
they do. But, it is the way these total strangers pull together and help push one another
over lifes obstacles that is the meat of the book. It is Gods grace and love
that brings hope to each situation just as it should be for us.
Author Neta Jackson has written with her husband, but this is her first solo novel.
Shes agreed to an interview with me and I can hardly wait.
I highly recommend the YADA YADA PRAYER GROUP. If we used a rating system, this book would
get a 10+. Not only is it a fun read, it'll make you think.
