Nick Gentry has been
hired to find Miss Charlotte Howard by any means necessary. You see, her jilted affianced hasn't managed to
gather a shred of evidence as to where his betrothed might have run off to. And he does so desperately want to find her. So he's hired the notorious Nick Gentry to do the
job.
Nick Gentry is a man of reputation,
and not necessarily a good one either, but when he tracks down Miss Howard at the Earl of
Westcliff's country estate, he is struck by a
plethora of unfamiliar emotions. All of his
life he has been a man without honor, or so he frequently tells himself, but when he
finally finds Charlotte he is unable to turn her over to her unsavory fiancé. Is it because he is tempted, for once, to do the
honorable thing? Or is it because he wants
her for himself? This seasoned lawbreaker
isn't quite sure himself, he only knows that he can't condemn Charlotte to her fate.
There is but one solution. In order to free Charlotte from the life that
she's led the past two years, a life of always looking over her shoulder expecting to be
caught and hauled back to her nightmarish past at any moment, she must marry. Nick Gentry offers himself as a willing groom,
with one demand, that the marriage will not be in name only.
Charlotte accepts, knowing that she
must be mad to agree to marriage to the renowned Nick Gentry. And so begins the sizzling hot romance
between these two unlikely lovers. He with
his unsavory past, and she with her willful desire for a better life.
Lisa Kleypas writes a stunningly
sensual romance in Worth Any Price. The
sizzling heat between the two main characters may make readers themselves a little hot
under the collar. I truly enjoyed the fresh approach that Ms. Kleypas took in creating the
hero for this romance. The character of Nick
Gentry is the perfect 'dream' lover, right down to his predilection for Tantric lovemaking
and his lusty appreciation for the heroine.
Kleypas is a masterful storyteller,
weaving complex and interesting subplots through the delightful romance in Worth Any
Price. Her details are exquisite, her
settings believable and her plot and characters very well-written. I would recommend Worth Any Price to any
reader who loves a scorchingly hot, seductive historical.
