Tabby
Lamont’s life hasn’t been easy. She
was
left at an orphanage when she was a mere child and the cruel
headmistress made
life for Tabby a living hell. But
Tabby’s life is about to change, thanks to the wealthy man who is going
to take
her away from it all by marrying her.
Tabby is thrilled to leave the orphanage and to have
a life
finally. On her wedding night though, to
her great shock, Tabby is kidnapped.
Tabby is angry with the ‘Rogue’ who has kidnapped
her and possibly
ruining her chances to have a good life.
Tabby is
held at the Rogue’s Highland Castle, among his clan of
brothers and
sisters who Tabby hopes will aid her in escape.
But the Rogue seems to see all, hear all and know
all, and knows what
Tabby is up to and warns her that there is no escape.
As she fights for her freedom, the more the Rogue
finds her intriguing, beautiful, and he wants her.
But secrets from the past and the
misunderstandings of the present make it difficult to hope for a
happily ever
after for these two Wild Hearts.
Virginia
Henley’s Wild Hearts is an
interesting tale of two wild hearts which come to beat only for each
other. Tabby and the Rogue are very
powerful characters, one’s I enjoyed for their grit, determination and
their
love for family.
However,
the story over, left me feeling dry and it actually took many tries to
finish
it. The premise of the story was good
but besides Rogue and Tabby, the other characters I found to be
frivolous,
boring and tedious. There was so much behind the scenes information I
never
quite understood. Margaret, for example,
truly seemed to dislike her family, but it was never followed up on, as
to why
she did.
Wild Hearts is a re-issue,
originally released
in January 1993. While I am glad that
Ms. Henley’s books are being re-issued, as I have missed a few during
the
years, Wild Hearts comes as a
great disappointment to me after so many previous hits by Ms. Henley.
