A Regency
matchmaker needs to plan the wedding of the century in order for her business to survive.
Matchmaker Meredith
Chilton-Grizedale is determined to find Philip Whitmore the perfect wife. Hired by
Philips father, she has until September 1st to have Philip married. And
everything is going fine until the bride-to-be doesnt show up at the wedding, but
instead sends a messenger saying something about Philip being cursed! Meredith reschedules
the wedding for September 22nd, determined to find the bride-to-be and put this
nonsense to rest. Cancellations of her services are already starting to arrive. Will the
wedding of the century happen too late to save her business from complete ruin?
Philip Whitmore has
lived for years in the desert unearthing treasures from ancient cities. He has survived
desert sandstorms and fought off grave robbers. But the idea of getting married scares
Philip to death. He agrees to it only when his father says that he is getting sick and
wants an heir before he passes on. Everything would have been fine too, except the day
before his marriage was supposed to happen he finds out about an ancient curse dooming his
future bride to death two days after the wedding! There is an antidote for the curse, but
it is broken off the stone. Who is willing to marry Philip with that curse hanging over
his head? If he does fall in love, will he be able to find the missing piece of the stone?
Philip is a
loveable hero. Clueless to the ways of the ton, he is gaining a not exactly favorable
reputation. To make matters worse, Philip doesnt seem to care. He is only anxious to
get back into the field and do more research. He doesnt see the need to marry a rich
and beautiful woman. He has all the land and money he needs and a wife will only slow him
down. Meredith is desperate to survive, and the mysterious Philip is her key to success.
If she can find him a rich bride, shell be set for life but Philip refuses all her
attempts to civilize him. And then there is the matter of the curse. . . .
