WHO DO YOU TRUST? by Melissa James

Unfinished business..........

That is what sent Mitch McCluskey back to his hometown.  He was going home to reunite with his sons and the lady he had loved from afar for 17 years, Melissa "Lissa" Carroll.

For many years Lissa wondered if she'd ever hear from Mitch again.  Then she was asked to raise his sons until he returned home from the Air Force.  Now he has returned home and their reunion is bittersweet. Mitch soon realizes that the sweet, young girl he left behind is now strong, courageous and wounded very deeply. Mitch has always regretted not confessing his love to Lissa years ago and when he finally does she has a difficult time believing it. After years of a marriage that was void of passion, Lissa doesn't believe any man would find her desirable.

Mitch knows he must convince Lissa that his love is and always has been true before he loses her for good.  Mitch and Lissa embark on an adventure of suspense, danger, excitement and unfulfilled desires.  They fight to protect each other from an unknown enemy that will stop at nothing to see Mitch dead and have Lissa all to himself.

WHO DO YOU TRUST?  is a deeply emotional story that will make you laugh one moment and cry the next.  Watching Lissa and Mitch find their way back to each other, past the betrayals, the fears and mistrust will touch the reader on so many emotional levels.  It made me think about the tragedies and injustices of the world and wish I could change them all.  This is the first in Ms. James series, THE NIGHTHAWKS, and I know I am anxious to read more about the men and women we meet in this book who are part of The Nighthawks.

Melissa James is a fabulous writer who speaks from her heart straight to the heart of the reader.  The roller coaster of emotions and suspense in this book had me on the edge of my seat wishing the adventure never had to end.
