Just friends. That is what Anna Prescott keeps telling herself when she gets very involved in helping family friend Gavin Mathis. Gavin’s a professional football player whose brother, Kyle, just got dumped on his doorstep, so to speak. Gavin wants to be there for Kyle, and offer him a stable home. When Gavin hired Anna as his personal chef, and to help out with Kyle, his intentions were honorable. But after just a couple of weeks with their new routine – Anna coming over in the morning to fix breakfast and being at Gavin’s when Kyle arrives home from school – both friends wonder how long their friendship can remain simple.
Anna has always depended on the overprotective males in her family. But now, their overprotectiveness is complete interference in her life. Gavin is best friends with one of Anna’s brothers, and he has a strong feeling that her family will look at him as just a player, not a man who will give Anna what she needs.
Gavin proves to be very good for Anna, breaking down her barriers and showing her such wonderful kindness. UNFORGETTABLE is a fantastic love story, incredibly emotional and captivating. Not only do readers get to watch Gavin and Anna’s relationship evolve, but there is a strong sense of family in this book. Many delightful family scenes regarding Anna’s family are played out. We also get to see the dysfunctional side - Gavin’s family. We see how Gavin just discovered he has a brother, and how his life of growing up without his father being there for him has such an impact on the man he is today. Gavin proves to be an exceptional big brother to Kyle, and that warmed my heart. All of these elements blend together to make UNFORGETTABLE a warm, engaging read.
