Eli Conners
brother Jeremy has been kidnapped. Eli wanted
the very best mercenary to help him rescue his brother and he gets the very best in Ray
Vereker. But when Eli meets Ray, he thinks
there has been some mistake, Ray Vereker is actually Ray Jean Vereker, a gorgeous woman
who Eli doesnt see as a ruthless mercenary. That
is, until he sees her in action.......
Ray carries
AK-47's around like most women carry a purse. She
has been a hired mercenary for a long time, is the best there is and always succeeds with
no distractions on her missions. But Ray has never trekked through the jungle with Eli
Conners, a sexy as hell distraction who makes her feel things she thought she buried years
ago.
How long can
Ray resist the gorgeous temptation in front of her? Surely
just giving in once, twice, maybe three times will be enough right? After all, Ray Vereker is one tough woman, nothing
has ever knocked her on her butt before, so nothing, not even Eli Conners will now. But then again, Ray never thought she would be expecting
the UNEXPECTED either......
Danger,
humour, suspense and out-of-control passion can be found in Lori Fosters latest
creation, UNEXPECTED. Eli Conners captured my
heart instantly. He is a strong, intelligent
and loyal family man who will fight for what he wants and will risk anything to get it. However, Eli infuriated me at times, allowing Ray
to call the shots in all aspects of their journey. Ray
is a tough woman who risks her life to bring loved ones home to their families but she
carries such a large chip on her shoulder, that while reading UNEXPECTED, I had to set the
book aside a few times to get over my frustrations with Ray. Ray Vereker is not the typical Lori Foster
heroine but I still kept coming back for more of the humour, the intrigue, the danger and
for Eli. *g*
I just had
to keep reading to find out if Ray and Eli rescued Jeremy and to see how Ray would deal
with her UNEXPECTED morning sickness and if she would ever set aside her fears and accept
Elis love. Typical Lori Foster heroine
or not, Ray Vereker is very intriguing and interesting.
Goes to show that when it comes to Lori Foster.....always expect the
UNEXPECTED. I eagerly await the next Lori
Foster tale.
