Wingmen Warriors Series

UNDER SIEGE by Catherine Mann

Under Siege

Lieutenant Colonel Zach Dawson is dedicated to his job.  He has been in the Air Force for sixteen years and is the commander of a Charleston Air Force Base C-17 squadron.  His wife walked out on him and their two children so he has been trying to hold his family together as well as take care of his squadron of pilots.  Not only does he have to contend with taking care of his airmen but he also has a rebellious teenage daughter.  Eight months before, Lieutenant Lance Sinclair crashed into a mountain leaving his pregnant wife, Julie.  Zach is investigating the accident.

Julie is captivated by her new baby boy and determined to give him a normal life even though he has Down’s syndrome.  She has had a rocky marriage to Lance but is now trying to be independent and raise her son to the best of her ability.  Zach comes around quite often fixing this and that, trying to help out.  He is definitely attracted to the beautiful widow and although she is attracted to him, she is not ready for any kind of a commitment but Zach has other ideas.

The Wingmen Warriors is an excellent series by author, Catherine Mann.  The dialog in UNDER SIEGE is very good and the story moves along at an excellent pace.  A lot of romantic tension makes an intriguing read as the air sizzles between the hero and heroine.  Bronco shows up from COVER UP, and it is great to see what he is up to as he adds to the current story.  Shelby, Zach’s teen daughter, is suffering from her mother’s desertion leaving Zach trying to figure out how best to cope with her anger.   As Julie and Zach help each other with their family problems, the friendship gradually turns to love.  Very good book, Ms. Mann -- I will be waiting for the next one in this series.
