At the gray edge of
reality, the very twilight of your conscious mind, dwells an assurance of something more,
something unseen and unspoken, but there nonetheless.
This is the case with each story revealed in TWILIGHT CROSSINGS. This surreal anthology contains four unique
stories of mysterious origins and histories.
Compiled by authors Jeanne Allen,
Shannah Biondine, Sheri McGathy and Jeanine Berry, this anthology encompasses the depth
and breadth of the speculative fiction genre, spliced neatly together with a hint or two
of romance.
ISODORA by Jeanne Allen is a
juxtaposed version of realities, post apocalyptic, in which a woman must garner knowledge
secretly and hide her search for wisdom, or be put to trial as a witch. Can the love she finds with a stranger save her
or cause her unimaginable harm?
TWIN STARS by Jeanine Berry is based
on another famous story from one of the greatest books ever, a story that I easily
recognized because of the similarities. Yet,
there were very unique differences too. This
story is the troubled account of a woman, one so different and alien that her kind is
hated and reviled, who must marry against her will. Can
she hide the secret of her race from her new husband?
Or will her budding love for him force the truth from her?
EIDOLON by Shannah Biondine is a
story rooted in one of my favorite time periods: the Old West. A dusty old town takes notice when an odd
stranger comes to town and begins to engage in very bizarre activities. Disappearing into the night, talking to animals
that actually answer back, and designing clothing for strumpets are just a few of the
oddities that this woman engages in whatever will she do next?
THIEF OF DREAMS by Sheri L. McGathy
is a story of fairies, fate and fables. My
personal favorite in the book, THIEF OF DREAMS is an enchanting story of two lovers,
matched by fate and separated by deception. Filled
with strong imagery and wonderfully emotional accounts, Ms. McGathy's enchanting tale kept
me glued to the pages until the very end!
All four stories in this anthology
have an otherworldly strangeness, and all are well written with truly unique storylines. Packaged neatly inside a splendid cover designed
by Deron Douglas, with the common thread of extraordinary journeys to different worlds and
different realities binding them together, these diverse stories will make you question
the boundaries of your own personal twilight. This book is for anyone who loves the spice
of the fantastic skillfully interwoven with romance.
Authors Allen, Biondine, Berry and McGathy all contribute to a truly
enjoyable reading experience.
