Veterinarian,
Carly Martin is minding her own business when a handsome stranger
storms into
her life, claiming her to be a gold digger!
Max Giordano claims to be the grandson of her friend
and best client,
Henry Tremayne. Henry has fallen and has
slipped into a coma which Max lets Carly know that she is the trustee
of close
to 35 animals that the eccentric millionaire owned, as well as his
mansion to
use to care for the animals. Max’s
accusations of her can’t be farther from the truth, but can Carly
respect
Henry’s wishes when she has Max to deal with? Max was never around when
Henry
was happy and health which leaves Carly to wonder just who he thinks he
is to
accuse her of anything when she’s been there for Henry when he has not.
Max
Giordano never had family around him and when he discovered where his
grandfather was, he had hoped to develop a relationship with him. But because of his fear of being rejected, Max
waited too long. Now, Henry is a coma
and Max wonders if there is any hope that Henry will recover and get to
know
him. When Max learns that Carly Martin is trustee of nearly everything
that
belonged to Henry, including the family mansion that has been in the
Tremayne
family for generations, Max sets out to find this woman who he thinks
might
have been involved with his grandfather.
Can Max and
Carly put their differences aside and respect the wishes Henry had set
for his
animals?
I
thoroughly enjoyed Trust Me by
Melanie Craft. This was a sweet read
that kept me entertained and caring about the characters.
Max and Carly had sparks flying all around
them when they were together, which provided tension-filled scenes and
sassy
dialogue as the fought their attraction to each other.
Carly was at times a bit “over the top” on
her good deeds though. Carly took in
plenty of lost, wandering strays, from all sizes and species and it all
seemed
a bit unrealistic at times. But Carly
has sass, intelligence and spunk. She
can’t help but become endearing to the reader.
Max and all his arrogance was a delight.
It was entertaining to watch him realize the true
nature of many things
surrounding him.
Melanie
Craft is a new author for me, but one I hope to read again. She really ‘crafts’ a tale of love, it’s
enchanting and it is an uplifting tale that really touches the heart. Trust Me is a breath of fresh air and
romance. Even lovers of the K-Nine
variety might want to pick up a copy of this book.
The dogs are entertaining as well!
