Called to Duty.....
CIA agent Darcy St. James had been
retired for two years, enjoying the peace she found at her home in South Dakota. Then she receives a call from her old partner,
fellow agent Gabriel, asking her to help with one more assignment. Darcy cant refuse when Gabriel tells her the
assignment involves an old friend and spy, Sergey. Darcy
heads to Florida for a meeting with Sergey and when the meeting takes an unexpected and
dangerous turn, it is Navy SEALs Chief Petty Officer Sam Houston, the man Darcy has just
met that comes to her aid.
Sam becomes Darcys protector
when Darcy tells him there is a bounty out on her head and he vows to keep her safe. During Sam and Darcys time together, the
twin towers are attacked on September 11 and some fellow CIA agents are murdered. Darcy knows she wont be returning to South
Dakota any time soon and begins to track down a man who knew and profited from the attack. Sam is also called to duty, but he and Darcy stay
in touch and even work together when the SEALs are needed to check out leads on the
terrorists. Sam and Darcys relationship
blossoms each time they meet....but will it survive through this terrible war and when
Darcy is losing faith in the Lord and the greater good?
Ms. Henderson does a superb job of
writing from the view of a CIA agent. True Honor delves into the work of the CIA, the
countless hours and the unending determination of the agents to find these criminals. Two very strong, committed and similar characters
come together in this fight and love flourishes despite the distance between them.
The scriptures written in True Honor
make the story compelling and very true, they helped us all stay strong when we were
looking for answers after the tragedies of
September 11. This action-packed and
fast-paced story is moving and brilliantly written, I was enthralled from the first page. Ms. Hendersons amazing storytelling had me
on the edge of my seat and emotional through many scenes.
Even though it was difficult reading
and revisiting the horrible tragedy of September 11, the strengths, beliefs and
determination of many people renewed my faith in mankind and their coming together in a
time of need. Ms. Henderson does a great job
with grace and style in this story.
