Thanks to his fathers ultimatum,
Sebastian Carr, Viscount Langley has to enter society and find himself a wife, an heiress
with a fortune preferably, or be cut off financially before his 25th birthday.....a mere
two months away! Sebastian, who is over his head in debt knows his father will be true to
his word and has no choice but find a rich lady so he can pay off his debts and never be
concerned with money again.
Sebastian
sets his sights on one Miss Penelope Rutledge who is the Toast of the Season, gorgeous,
looking for a man with a title and comes with a significant about of money. But to Sebastians surprise, it
is Penelopes younger sister Jane who he thinks of constantly and has fun with. Jane Rutledge intrigues Sebastian and he is
confused by his interest in her.
Sebastian
must find a way to gain control of his life before he loses all control of it, his senses....and his heart.
THE
RELUCTANT ROGUE is a highly entertaining read with humorous characters as well as sharp
and witty dialogue. I laughed, shed a tear or
two and fell in love with both Sebastian and Jane. Jane
Rutledge is a woman who has always known she isnt as beautiful as her sister and she
will never have men beating down her door [a Plain Jane, if you will], but what she lacks
in beauty [which is nothing in my opinion] she makes up for in intelligence, grit and
determination. Sebastian is a wonderfully
gorgeous hero with a heart of gold who really only wants to find someone to love him
unconditionally.
Elizabeth
Powell has made this reader [who normally wouldnt read Regencies], want to read more
books featuring this era, the ladies and the Rogues of Society, especially if they
were written by her!
Ms. Powell
provides an honorable man with a delightful heroine who suffer from similar insecurities
and need each other more than either of them could ever imagine. The secondary characters are also delightful,
entertaining and charismatic. This tale is
the perfect balance of romance, humor and intriguing characters. I am very glad that I didnt miss this
wonderfully written tale by Elizabeth Powell......hopefully you wont miss it either!
