Owner of Plentifuls Bookstore,
Scarlett OMalley lives and breaths mysteries. Scarletts
father was a well known mystery author and Scarlett hopes that the apple doesnt fall
far from the tree. For years she has been
determined to prove that her step-father, Plentifuls Chief of Police Adam Grant had
something to do with her mothers untimely and tragic death. Scarlett is also a member of the Tuesday Morning
Sleuth Society which consists of herself and three elderly ladies who enjoy reading and
debating their favorite authors. Scarlett and
the Sleuths have been known for looking for crimes and ulterior motives
throughout the town.
When
mysterious stranger, Logan Wolfe moves into town, the Sleuths have plenty of
suspicions about him. When an elderly woman
dies in Scarletts store, moments after Logan had been with her and one of
Plentifuls wealthiest and long-time residents goes missing and has been seen
spending a lot of time with Logan, the Sleuths believe that he is a murderer and are
determined to prove it. The ladies convince
Scarlett to get close to Logan to find out everything she can about him and solve the
mysteries happening in their town.
Ex-Vegas
cop, Logan Wolfe, moved to Plentiful, Wyoming to escape his demons and to do some fishing. Being a very private man, Logan keeps a low
profile and only tells a select few that he is retired.
Logan would rather not attract too much attention to himself and believes people
should mind their own business, especially when he meets Scarlett OMalley. He has never met a more nosy, unorthodox, sexy or
sassy woman in his life and he is intrigued by her. Soon
Logan desires her attentions directed his way and is obsessed with her.....and her belly
button ring.
Logan and
Scarlett cant help but be drawn to each other. Even though Logan doesnt want
to get involved with the eccentric lady, he cant seem to help himself and when her
investigation proves more fatal and intriguing then he first suspected, Logan cant help but be by her side. Logan assists Scarlett looking for clues, looking
out for her and trying to keep her out of trouble that she seems to have a habit of
finding wherever she goes. But Logan finds
that its not just Scarlett that gets herself into trouble, he finds trouble with a capital T with one
Scarlett OMalley....and not all that sure if he wants to get out of it.
This is my
first book by Patti Berg and I vow that it wont be my last. I loved this romantic comedy from page one with
Scarlett literally jumping off the page and into my heart and I didnt want this
story to end. Scarlett is sassy and stubborn
and she doesnt always look before she leaps. But this makes Scarlett all the more sweet and
endearing to this reader.
Logan Wolfe
definitely meets his match with Scarlett and they work well together to solve the many
mysteries in Plentiful. Logan is an ex cop
who has seen many unpleasant things in his career and its like Scarlett is his breath of
fresh air and it is beautiful to watch him open his heart to her and each of them are what
the other needs in their lives. These
characters are electrifying, delightful and keep readers engaged from start to finish. Their attraction to each other is sweet, steamy
and Logans fixation on Scarletts belly button rings are charming and very
funny. Ms. Berg crafts a highly entertaining
and charming read that has me scrambling for more of her work from the past and a definite
must for the future. This story will be STUCK
on readers even after the last page is read.
