All Daniel
“Crusty” Baker had in mind as he set his plane down in a Middle East
Country
was to rescue his two half-brothers. What
Daniel never expected was to come face to face
with the only woman
he ever really cared about, his childhood friend, Mary Elise McRae. The last time Daniel saw Mary Elise was
eleven years ago when they parted ways. He
is shocked, to say the least, when he learns that
Mary Elise had been
working with his father, an Ambassador in the Middle East and he didn’t know a
thing about
it. Daniel never thought that after so
many years apart, he could still have some old feelings for Mary Elise,
but
finds that he does as they work together to care for his younger
brothers.
Mary Elise
McRae never really got over Daniel Baker and if her continued feelings
for him
are any indication when they live together to care for the boys, she
will never
get over him. Mary Elise had never
trusted, or counted on anyone more than Daniel years ago. But when
their lives
took a heartbreaking turn, they went their separate ways and the trust
between
them took a beating. Mary Elise wants to
trust Daniel with the real reason she was with his brothers, yet she
doesn’t
want to place him in danger. She’s
running for her life and refuses to place the only man she’s ever
really loved
in danger.
Can Daniel
and Mary Elise learn to trust each other again, especially when danger
is just
around the corner? Will Mary Elise
continue
to run from the past…and her love for Daniel?
Catherine
Mann returns with another glorious tale in her Wingmen
Warriors series, Strategic
Engagement. Daniel “Crusty” Bake
has been a curiosity of mine since we met him, and his junk food eating
ways, at
the beginning of the series. Daniel
always struck a cord in me, one because he didn’t get the girl in Taking Cover (book 2 of Wingmen
Warriors), and two because
underneath it all, he has a sensitivity that just stood out and his
call-sign
doesn’t have anything to do with is attitude. Daniel’s
interactions with his brother’s are
endearing and his love for
Mary Elise is golden. With each Wingmen Warriors tale released,
Catherine Mann always seems to bring the best of the best to our lives
with her
heroes, heroines and superb writing. Each
hero stands out and becomes a favourite (all of
them so far are my
favourites), yet Daniel will be stuck in my thoughts for a long time. There’s just so much to him that one comes to
love.
Danger,
suspense and love soar through the skies in Strategic
Engagement. The pain of the past
is relived for Daniel and Mary Elise, but will it be conquered to begin
anew?
Readers will have to get a copy to find out. Ms.
Mann is top-notch when it comes to Military
tales. Be prepared when reading this
talented author
to drop whatever it is you are doing to read her suspense and action
like none
other before.
