One night was all it
took to change Sabra's life forever. On
a Daamen trading ship, which was attacked by ruthless and murdering
pirates,
her parents and friends were taken away from her, forever.
Sabra was the only person to survive that
fateful night. What would she do? Would
she be able to escape a fate at the hands of these pirates, which only
death
would be a blessing compared to the torture at their hands?
Cam, a Daamen trader
who is in charge of his men and trading goods, never thought he would
find the
woman for him on his latest trip. She's
a Bounty Hunter, as ruthless and as tough as they come.
Cam had only heard of this woman but had
never seen her before. But the moment he
lays eyes on her, he realizes that there is something very familiar
about her,
like he has seen her before. But she's
an unforgettable woman; he would have remembered her for sure.
Sabra escaped her
captors, but at what cost? Will her vow
of vengeance to kill all the pirates who took more than just her
parents, stop
her from seeing the man's life, which is right in front of her? Can Cam's love save the Soul of a
Hunter?
Tissues and a couple
hours of absolute peace are needed when reading book 5 of the Heart and Soul series, Soul of a Hunter
by Angela
Verdenius. I recommend a couple hours of absolute peace so that readers
are
prepared to be drawn into this story with no hope of stopping until the
last
word is read. (I was so engrossed in this tale when I read it; I
literally
burnt the dinner I was preparing.) I
never thought that Ms. Verdenius would be able to match the emotion or
the
poignancy of Reya's story (Soul of a
Mercenary), the second book of this series, but she has with
Sabra's
story. While I thought that these two
stories might just be too similar because of the history of the female
characters from the brief synopsis of each, I have to say that each
story is a
class act all on their own.
Soul of a Hunter
is a powerful story, which is full of intensity, strong emotions and
the
dramatic words of the author. I was so in tune with the characters,
loving the
Daamen traders as always and felt Sabra's pain on every level. This is another wonderful story in the Heart and Soul series, Ms. Verdenius
keeps her readers entranced as usual and anticipating the next story. This is a profound saga that keeps on living
and this reader hopes it never ends.
Be sure to watch for
book 6 in the Heart and Soul series
in June 2004, with Love’s Bewitching
Thief. I can’t wait!
