Bree, of
Clan Dunstan has grown up feeling at peace and with a kinship to the
earth and
the standing stones. Bree is a descendant of the Skye people, a dying
world who
were once protected by the Shroud warriors. Centuries ago, a Spirit
Priest
defied his goddess, which resulted in a Shroud warrior to choose
between his
life and his honour. But now,
when Bree needs the warriors promise he carved among the stones, “When your need is truly great, the stone
shall not forsake”, she can’t stop the deaths of her people or the
falling
of the lands. Who can Bree turn to for help if the ancient warrior can
not be
called upon? Can good conquer evil
before it is too late?
Profound
fantasy, in-depth characters and a vibrant story keep a reader
captivated while
reading Within the Shadow of Stone
by Sheri L. McGathy. This is a new
author for me; one that I hope will deliver more of this heart-stopping
intrigue and magick again soon. I had
the feeling of power while reading this book.
The intensity and passion of the story, of the
words, grip the reader
and I was holding my breath a few times.
This is a poignant rendition of good vs. evil. Bree is a great character who is truly
enchanting. She has an air about her
that draws the reader in and keeps us glued to her side throughout her
journey.
Ms. McGathy
has a new fan with this reader. Within
the Shadow of Stone is a
magical tale of wonderment, danger and intrigue. This
tale comes highly recommended.
