| Olivia Mallory and her sister, Esme, along with their
maid, Hepzebah Potter, are in London to try and get their cousins poems published. Olivia has decided to combine business with
pleasure on this trip since she cant give her sister a season. The publisher refuses to publish the poems as they
are. Since Olivias cousin, Jane,
corresponded with and traded poems with a mystery man, he wants the mans permission
to publish his letters and poems in the book. Now
Olivia must discover who the mystery man is and obtain his permission. Meanwhile, David Crighton, the eighth Baron Crighton, is in London because of
his uncle. His uncles man of business
informed David that someone was threatening him. While
in London, David spots Olivia in the lobby of Grillons Hotel and does his best to
find out how she is. He gets the help of a
very dear friend of his. David never wanted
to marry and cant understand his attraction to this woman. But he must keep in mind that his primary reason
for being in London is to find out who is threatening his uncle.
While out a different outings with a woman she met during her brief
coming out seven years ago, Olivia meets a gentleman that she is very attracted to. She has to remember not to lose sight of why she is in
London.
This Regency has it all! The
beautiful clothes of the period, the events, the sights of London, the mysteries and even
the romance. Plus, we get the added bonus of
a second romance with Esme. The setting is so
realistic that I could see the congested streets of London and smell the odors. The characters are all very believable, right
down to Hepzebahs dislike of London. This
is a wonderful story and I recommend it to all lovers of Regency Romance.
