Fashion
designer, Countess Eylssa Di Spadafiera is about to embark on a journey to a land where
women are treated as second-class citizens. Danger
lurks everywhere in this beautiful land. When
the unthinkable happens, Eylssa turns to the one man her sister-in-law has told her she
can trust.
Sheik Rakan is a
powerful and influential force in his country as well as around the world. He comes to Eylssas rescue and agrees to
protect her as well as help her achieve revenge. Soon
he realizes that Eylssa means everything to him.
This is a
marvelous novel. Ms. Laurens brings us into a
world that is mysterious and shows, not only its beauty and history, but its
harshness of its culture. She writes of an
emotional event with a tender hand enabling the reader to become engrossed but not
repelled. Rakan is an honorable and marvelous
hero. His patience and caring of Eylssa
during her recovery is extraordinary. The
pure love that grows between these two defies any reader to remain unaffected.
Rarely have I read
a story such as the type Ms. Laurens weaves. She
is eloquently descriptive of emotions, settings, people and places. I absolutely recommend
this book, as it is a wonderful read. Just
one note, while this book is a stand alone, reading its predecessor, Bargain for Love,
adds to the background of the characters.
