Set in small town
Buell Creek, Oregon, RESTORATIONS is a charming modern-day story involving a young woman
who is struggling to find her place in the world, and a man whose career is restoring old
houses.
When Sara Anderson
returns home for her beloved grandfathers funeral, she discovers that her
grandfather has left his old farmhouse to her. Even though her grandfather dreamed of
turning the house into a bed and breakfast, Sara plans to put the house on the market
without delay.
Brian Farris dated
Sara in college, and when she broke up with him, he was unable to forget the dark haired
beauty. Desperate to win her back, he tracks Saras relatives down in Oregon and
befriends them, hoping to gain information about Sara. God seems to smile on him the day
Sara shows up at his door. But he doesnt make a good first impression. Seriously
ill, he collapses at Saras feet.
Horrified by Saras
decision to sell, Brian hopes to talk her into renovating the house, even if she decides
someone else gets the job. Sara refuses to consider it until she discovers that she was
fired for extensive absence from her job as a librarian. With no place to go, Sara decides
there is nothing left to do but try to realize her grandfathers dream. Her aunt
Hattie is convinced that Brian is the man for the job and refuses to let Sara call anyone
else for bids. But while the house can be
restored, is it to late for Brian and Sara?
RESTORATIONS is an
adorable story with realistic characters. It was nice to read about a hero with a
different occupation and in an unusual setting. It was obvious Ms. Blythe spent hours
researching the renovation process. Sara seemed a bit stiff to me, but Brian hurt her
badly in the past, so her attitude toward him is justified. RESTORATIONS is well written,
but I sometimes found the sudden point of view changes jarring. RESTORATIONS is the second
published story by Ms. Blythe. I really enjoyed RESTORATIONS, the whole book is unique and
worthy of a read. Pick up this book today! Available
