Jamie McGill is on the run in 1880 Northern Texas. Right
on her tail is a Texas Ranger named Colt, a man who grew up with her, though now they are
on opposite sides of the law. Jamie is attempting escape from the hangmans
noose, while its Colts job to bring her in to face justice.
Jamie
killed the two men responsible for the rape and murder of her sister. When she informs
Colt of the circumstances surrounding the killing, he promises her that she wont
hang, but that she needs to go back to Austin to face a trial even though in doing so she
is placing her life at risk.
This
is an exciting story with two great characters. The premise is solid, the characters
likeable and the potential for an extended plotline present. This reader would love to see
this short story transformed into a full length novel, as Rangers Way has the
capacity to be a winner.
