Lonnie Kelley, a temp office helper at Twit
and Bell Law Office, hates her job and her boss. Lonnie lives
with her sister Peach and sees her boyfriend Terry, an aspiring comic from time to time as
they deal with their long-distance relationship. Although Lonnie
is seeing Terry, she is attracted to Dominick Carter, a computer whiz who works in the
same building, who she enjoys meeting for lunch. Lonnie is quirky
and eccentric, she wears the Plum Daiquiri lipstick to prove it too. Her life never seems
to be boring with her boyfriend, her attraction to another man and dealing with her sister
Peach. But these things all become incomparable when she finds
the dead body of one of the law firms partners. Lonnie soon
becomes engrained in the murder investigation, all the while trying to sort out her
undeniable attraction to Dominick, who makes it known that he would like to see her beyond
office hours
Hilarious, fun and sexy is PLUM GIRL by Jill
Winters. This was the first tale of Ms. Winters
that I have had the joy of reading and I am so glad that I did! I
loved Lonnie for her quirkiness, her sass and her dilemma over Dominick.
Ms. Winter masterfully brings the light hearted romance together with the murder
mystery and keeps the reader flipping the pages quickly to see what will happen next. It is mystery, murder, love and excitement, along with a few
misadventures in the life of Lonnie Kelley in PLUM GIRL. I hope
to see a sequel to this tale someday when Peach gets her own story. PLUM
GIRL is a must read!
